we created the space we longed to see in our community for artists, entrepreneurs, and independent business owners.
Hawk + Harvest is an event that’s vendor-run and focussed on community. Each event leans in to old ways of being - people coming together and socializing with one another, surrounded by art, handmade products, fresh produce, and small businesses. We aim to give power back to the entrepreneurs and arisans of our community. Our market has popped up at Breweries, Museums, in the forest of Kanaskis, and more, connecting makers with enthusiasts for the past 6 years. Our home is Lethbridge, Alberta where we continue to run several artisan markets per year, and our LOVED Vintage Market twice per year.
We will never be a market with 100+ vendors - and we like it that way. With careful curation, we aim to thoughtfully and effectively connect our community to the vendors that we do choose for each market. We welcome everyone from well-established artisans to fresh up-and-comers. While the majority of our vendors come from Lethbridge and surrounding area, we also host creators from farther away whenever we are able. At each market we collaborate with a local charity or cause and send a portion of our admission proceeds along to propel them forward.

meet the founder
Lauren Hart is the founder, lead organizer, designer, web builder, everything-er, and heartbeat behind Hawk + Harvest Market. What mattered most when she first put pen to paper, was creating something fun, different, and inclusive within a market setting. At the time, selling opportunities in Lethbridge seemed hard to come by, and lacked a feeling of excitement and creativity that she had about her own blooming jewelry business! Hawk + Harvest became a concept (a big and scary one, at that) that steadily grew more realistic with each day spent planning and reaching outside of her comfort zone to (hopefully) bring it to life! Now, it’s become exactly what it was intended to be - a fun and social atmosphere in which to sell handmade products, an exciting way for community to meet it’s makers, and a venue for the enjoyment of food, beverages, and live local music.
Lauren’s favourite part about each event is hearing artists share about their work, getting a glimpse into their personality, and why they do what they do. The choice to run night markets with food, beverages and live music was all rooted in Lauren’s vision to not only support local, but to CELEBRATE local too, and to encourage our community to return to it’s roots.
Aside from running markets, Lauren owns Heartspace Yoga Studio and Solstice Juice Co. which opened their doors in 2019. Together with her partner, Lauren can also be found getting her hands dirty at the Free Folk Farm, hiking with their dog Waylon, or renovating their 1988 Motorhome.
